What we do and don't store
Plain language, no legalese. If anything below changes, we'll update this page and date the change.
Your resume data
- We never receive your uploaded PDF. When you upload a resume to the PDF to Resume or ATS Score tool, the file is read entirely in your browser using a local PDF parser. The bytes of the file are never uploaded.
- Only the extracted text is sent to our AI parser so it can return structured fields. We don't log this text, don't share it with third parties beyond the model provider, and don't keep it after the request completes.
- Your edited resume is stored on your device. The builder saves drafts to your browser's localStorage. You can export, import, or delete them at any time. Once we ship accounts, signing in lets you sync up to 5 resumes across devices — those are stored encrypted at rest in our database, scoped strictly to your user account.
- No tracking of your content. We don't read what's in your resume to advertise to you or sell to anyone. There's no "share with employers" backdoor.
PDF tools (merge, split, compress, sign, etc.)
All 37 PDF tools run 100% in your browser. Files you drop into them never leave your device. The tools work offline once the page is loaded.
AI features
Three features call our AI provider (Groq): ATS Score, PDF to Resume, and inline AI assist inside the builder. We send only the text you've asked us to analyze. We don't store the request or the response. Rate limits prevent abuse but are scoped per IP, not per identity.
Analytics, cookies & advertising
We use aggregate analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand which tools are popular. We do not sell personal data.
To keep the tools free, we serve ads on parts of the site through Google AdSense. As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet. The DoubleClick DART cookie is one such cookie Google may use.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.com (EU).
- Our cookie banner lets you reject non-essential cookies — that choice is honored via Google Consent Mode v2, so analytics and ad personalization are not loaded unless you opt in.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may also use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits. Read Google's advertising policies for more.
Accounts (when you sign in)
Signing in with email, Google, or LinkedIn stores your name, email, and avatar so we can show you your saved resumes. We don't post to LinkedIn or read messages on your behalf. You can delete your account from your profile page; deletion removes your resumes from our database within 24 hours.
Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA)
Residents of the EU, UK, and California have the right to access, correct, port, or delete the personal data we hold about them, and to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We don't sell data, so the opt-out is moot — but the other rights are real. Email us at the address below and we'll respond within 7 days (30 days at the outside, where the law allows longer).
